Powder Coating

What is Powder Coating?

Powder coating is the process of coating a surface with a dry powder using an electrostatic or compressed air method. The applied powder is then heated (cured) to its melting point, after which it flows to form a smooth film which dries to a firm, durable finish.

Advantages of Powder Coating

• Powder coating emits no volatile organic compounds and produces no hazardous waste
• Powder coated materials are very resistent to scratches, cracking, peeling, UV rays and rust
• Powder coating can produce much thicker coatings than conventional liquid coatings without running or sagging
• Powder coating overspray can be recycled therefore it is possible to achieve nearly 100% use of the coating
• A wide range of specialty effects is easily accomplished which would be impossible to achieve with other coating processes.
